1996 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

hey guys my dodge dakota is stuck in 4 wheel drive.It was always hard to put it in and out of 4 wheel drive.Could it be transfer case low on fluid?if so what type would it take.any other possibilities please let me know Thanks Mike

If you are stuck and there is nothing holding it outside then inside the case it gets stuck. Although it may have been caused by a loss of lubrication it must come apart to be repaired. It is very similar to a manual trans. Some guys use a bigger hammer and sometimes there are assists that fail. Good luck
