1996 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I was given an engine out of a wrecked dodge Dakota. I know it is a V-6, But I don't know the size or the year. The person I got it from could not remember. Is there a way I can find out this information by looking for a number on the engine?

Hi:
Yes, there should be a serial number near the front of the head on the driver's side. You will then need to contact a dealer to identify it.

Is it possible for you to take a picture of it and upload if for me to see? I may be able to tell by looking at it.
