Hi:
There isn't one. You check for codes by cycling the key from off to run 3 times and leaving it on the 3rd time. The check engine light will flash X-numbers of times with a delay between numbers. You need to count the flashes to identify the code.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi:
My manual goes from code 11 to 13. Are you sure you got 12? Please double check. As far as the 55, that indicates end of fault codes sequence.

Double check the 12, and I continue looking. Also, what problem are you having with the truck? I have the same truck and at 180K I've been through most everything.

Hi:
Make sure there are no vacuum leaks (especially on the passanger side at the rear of the engine). There are several (hard plastic) hoses that run down toward the exhaust manifold that melt over the years and you can't see the problem unless you physically move them around. Also, have you had any trouble with the power brake booster? Mine went bad and I had a rough idle until the truck warmed up. The indicator was a hard pedal until the engine started (only after sitting over night). Finally, make sure the plug going to the power distribution center is tight. (it's the giagantic harnedd on the passanger side inner fender). They have been known to corrode and come loose.

Did you double check the code 12?

Hi:
The only thing I could find for a code 12 is loss of battery power. From what I can tell, people are having trouble with moisture in the throttle position sensor. Check it out. I will post this problem with the director.

Joe

If this works, let me know.
