1992 Dodge Dakota timing

1992 Dodge Dakota V8

I need to know where to set the timing marks so i can use a timing gun. When the truck starts it runs fine but when you start to drive it will just die. I am going to check for play in the rotor to see if it is the drive gear or bushing block. Please help if you can.
