Recently my 1999 Dodge Caravan with 90,000 miles on it started to have problems with ignition key sticking a bit and not turning on when vehicle was stopped. The steering wheel was locked as well when this occurred. It was random and has been occurring sporadically the past week.
Today the key goes into the lock, but can not turn the ignition switch on, nor will the steering wheel unlock. I have tried to jiggle the key, steering wheel etc...to the point that significant pressure was applied. No change.
The shift mechanism on the column does not move from Park and the key does not turn the ACC on, either. I have tried to rock the vehicle while trying move steering wheel, shifter and key simultaneously with no results.
What is the next step?
