I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan V6 with 78,000 miles and noticed that it was leaking cooliant. I brought it to my service station and they told me that I needed to replace the freeze plugs and in order to do that they needed to take out the transmission. They told me that this would be a days work and quite expensive. Is this correct? Thanks for your help.

It's possible! There are freeze plugs on the rear of the engine!
