Whenever I press on the gas my engine makes a ticking noise. Probably not connected but it started doing it right after I had the transmission rebuilt.

I think it is related to the work that was done. It sounds like an exhaust leak and they would have removed it. Take it back and have them check it.

Let me know what you find.

Does the noise change with engine speed or vehicle speed?

The noise is only there when I press the gas and it goes away when I let off the gas. It does not change in noise level at all

The only thing I can say without being there, is check to make sure all motor mounts and trans mounts are tight.

I need to explaine something. The reason I first said exhaust is because if there is a slight leak, it will make a ticking noise. Most people don't recognize it as an exhaust leak.

No problem. I am totally lost. I took it back to the transmission shop twice and they said everything looks good so I don't know what else it could be. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :)

If I was there, I would help you find it. Since it started after they did their work, it has to be related to something they did. You may want to have another tech listen to it and get their opinion. If they can hear it, they may know exactly what it is and know if it is related to the trans replacement. I will note that Chrysler transmissions do make a clicking when first shifted into gear, but it only last a couple seconds.

Let me know what you find. I'm really anxious to know what it is.
