2001 Dodge Caravan ecm internal fault

Check engine light on. went to autozone and they "checked" the code. the code is P0601.
the definition is ECM internal fault
the explaination is ECM unable to communicate on the SPI line.
Probable causes are
1. shorted input sensor
2. shorted electrical circuit
3. failed ECM
The car runs good with no apparent problems.
Anybody experience this and what can be done to solve it?

In some cases yes, but always from Autozone. It may be an internal computer problem. Which one. I think you should have it looked at. If you need parts go to Autozone. If your van has a check engine lamp better to go to a service shop or dealer. The code is more accurate, and it's better to be sure, before replacing a computer. There is quite a difference between a scanner of different prices. OK Check the fuses in the engine compartment and check the transmission fluid.
