what are the common causes for battery drain?

what are the common causes for battery drain?went to test the battery and charging system at parts store they say it's fine but I checked the fuse found one blown fixed it and still the battery drains?checked the positive and negative terminals and cleaned them?before the problem had a ipod fm modulator plugged in and that 's what killed the battery but can't seem to find the fuse to isolate the circuit for that direct accessory cig lighter.will take battery out to the part store to test it once more? please help will donate if you respond thanks

One of the most common item to cause a battery drain is the AC compressor control relay sticking on or a CD or coins stuck in the player. I would remove the control relay to see if that helps. Please check out this guide can well.
