2000 Dodge Caravan windows fog up BAD!

is it just moisture from water or does it have the smell and feeling of anti freeze? How much moisture are we talking about? if it just water vapor check under your floor mats to see if there is excess water. it could have been from snow or ice brought in the car from your feet. if that is the problem take mats out and let them sit inside to dry. a day that it above freezing and the sun is out open the indows
and let the car air out. this will take care of some of the moisture. check under the rugs and see how much water is built up in the padding. if it feels like anti freeze{ hard to clean the windows because of the film on window then you might have a anti freeze leak in the heater core. remember even a little moisture can fog the windows.

I don't think it's antifreeze. doesn't smell or feel like it. No moisture under mats or carpet either. right now I am looking at the drain for the inside vents/heater core area. There is a 6-8" hose with a 90 deg bend that is in the engingine compartment coming from the firewall. I Have it removed but still trying to figure out how to look in there. No idea or luck looking from the inside of vent either.

can you get to the hose? if so can you put some air in from a compressor or even blow in it. it may be that that is it, it could be clogged

so far there is no water on the floors. and you have checked to see if you can feel any water comming down. it's not a anti freeze smell. The moisture has to be comming in from somewhere. When you checked the rugs, did you check the back too? How about under the hood by the firewall is there any small openings where water could get in, when it rains or snows?

i am having the same problem you had/have was just wondering if you found anything out or have anymore tips for me its driving me nuts

Sorry I forgot to post my latest. I spent several hours trying to figure out if the drain is clog or not. I never was successful due to the location of the drain on the firewall from the engine compartment and couldn't get to it from inside. I see where it leaves but if you take off a rectangualr rubber piece on the duct behind the the glove box you see the heater core and the drain is behind that. Anyway while I was messing around looking for causes, I notice that on the right side (again near glove box) near the blower motor there is a grate like opening that allows either outside or inside air to feed the blower. Mine was in the recirculate position and would never change no matter what position my heat or defrost was in. I unplugged the electrical connnector going to it and fiddle around then put it back together and when I turned the ignition on the door moved into the closed postion (no inside air recirculating) I haven't had a fog problem since and the weather has been the same. I am assuming that it was stuck in recirculate postion and everyone's breath was just being pulled through and blown out into the van. I have had this fog problem since I bought the van new and had taken it back a couple of times to the dealer with no resolution. They always recommended to run the AC to dry out the air. I also read that their is a thermostat that when the outside temperature is 32 or below the AC will not work. That would explain why the solution used before to run the AC and help dry the air out wasn't helping this time. Sorry for the long reply. But that's where it stands, about 11 days and no fogging up!
