You usuallly hear a bad front wheel bearing before you feel it, a low hum when driving on a curvy road about 40-50 mph and steering the direction opposite that wheel. Possibilities for vibration are a bad tire or a worn axle, tie rod end or ball joint. But the fact that it occurs when you're braking suggests that it is in fact brake-related, most likely a warped rotor.
