Van listed above is an SE flex model. After 97K miles of flawless service, the MIL came on while pulling a hill on the freeway and downshift to 3rd resulting in "limp mode". It was over 100 degrees that day. I found that pulling to the side of the road, shutting off the engine and restarting cleared the problem and all was fine... until maybe the next hill. Problem continued to get worse but was less of problem on colder days. I dropped the pan on the transmission... first time! Filter was black and about a teaspoon of sludge on the magnet, otherwise no obvious problems... flushed fluid with 18 pints of valvoline ATF +4 and replaced filter. Problem persisted... replaced solenoid pack... problem still there... replaced valve body assembly with rebuilt unit... may be better, but is still winter.
Transmission shifts fine, though did notice some slippage on two occasions in 3rd when pulling a hill, but the whole thing is very intermittent. Now has 103K on it. I assume the transmission controller is the box on the left fender... I cleaned the contacts with nyetact electrical contact cleaner I use in delicate electronics today. Seems better. The diagnostic chart says to go for the computer next, but from what I have read on the forums... maybe time for transmission rebuild... so question is what next?

1. What code are you still getting on this vehicle?
2. This vehicle transmission doesn't easily get problem except the pressure switch/solenoid pack.
3. This vehicle is too sensitive that if you didn't get the exact solenoid pack, it will not work.
4. Most gear ratios code or transmission slips are caused by weak solenoid control switches, so rescan the vehicle and post the fault code.

This was an old post so it is unlikely that they will respond to you but I am sure others will benefit as well.

I am adding some info on this code as it is most likely metal or clutch material getting in a solenoid or a damaged valve body. More than likely they are going to have to replace or rebuild the unit to fix this.

Please let us know if we can help you with anything in the future.

Thanks
