How do you do a engine alignment after installing a cv joint shaft? What do I need exactly to do this? it is a 3.3 engine.

I was told by someone @auto zone when I purchased the cv joints so that I could replace them that I would need to get a engine alignment, I have never heard of this before so that is why I am confused. Everytime I turn my steering wheel I hear a loud popping noise, I think that my cv joints need replacing. any idea?

When driving and or in a parking lot and turning the steering wheel and moving
you hear a clanging noise
its almost 99 % the axle gone bad
and i was wondering if its an alignment that he meant to say

also check :
very common and we always replacing the stabilizer links and bar bushings
