I think I have a vacuum leak in the brake booster. When I push the break pedal down it's hard as a rock and will barely push down. When i do manage to get the pedal pushed down there is a hissing noise. The car will stop, but not completely. I have to put it in neutral just to stop completely. If I do need to replace the brake booster will I need to take off the intake manifold to get to it? Thanks in advance.

There should be a vacuum hose connected to the brake booster. Can you verify that? That should be your fix.

The hose is in tact. The brake pedal is rock hard and I can hear air/hissing sound when I push on the pedal. It's odd because all the hoses seem in tact and not cracked or broken. Thank you so much for your reply.

I understand now. The hissing is the sound of vacuum leaking here is how you can change the brake booster out in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
