TEST 15A: SYSTEM OVERVOLTAGE 1. If a battery charger is not connected to vehicle, go to next step. If a battery charger is connected to vehicle, charge battery to proper level. Disconnect charger. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . 2. Start engine. Raise engine speed to more than 1800 RPM and hold. Using a voltmeter, check battery voltage. If battery voltage is 15.5 volts or less, go to next step. If battery voltage is more than 15.5 volts, repair charging system as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . 3. Using scan tool, select SENSORS. Read ignition voltage. If scan tool displays 16 volts or less, go to next step. If scan tool displays more than 16 volts, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER- 1A: VERIFICATION TEST . 4. Conditions required to set DTC are not present at this time. SYSTEM OVERVOLTAGE DTC sets if voltage is more than 19 volts at CAB terminal No. 23 (White/Pink wire). Possible cause is: charging system output too high. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . NOTE: Perform TEST 1A: CHECKING SYSTEM FOR FAULTS before proceeding.
