I had the transmission rebuilt and after a cold night (20's) the transmission goes into safemode (limp home). If I stop, turn of the engine for a minute, then start again, it's OK. The trans shop has replaced the sensor and pigtails twice as they found code 56 in the computer (but no check engine light). They now suggest that the dealer can reprogram the computer to not be so sensitive for code 56. Is that correct?

DTC 56 and Scan tool code is P0715 are equivalent which relates to Input sensor error

If they cannot clear it -the transaxle will not upshift or downshift it means they didn't diagnose it properly-you best shot is the dealer if its need reprogramming

The problem is that limp mode is very intermittent - perhaps once every week. I can clear it by simply stopping and turning off the engine for a few seconds. Is there a service note about reducing the sensitivity? The sensor is working (replaced twice, pigtails also replaced) and code 56 is always temporary.
