Could you please tell me how many motor mounts are on my 1993 Dodge Caravan, and describe where they are located. (i.e. engine front right, engine front bottom left, etc.) One mechanic told me there were 4....3 engine front and 1 trans. Another mechanic told me there are 3...1 trans and 2 engine. I don't have a manual & haven't been able to find a schematic online.
I appreciate this. Thank you. Donna

Donna:
I looked everywhere for pictures and can't find them. There are three. One on the left side of the engine, one on the right, and one on the front. The 4th one they are talking about is a transmission mount. If you need a picture of what they look like, I can get you that, but not mounted on the engine.

I changed mine within the past year. THere are three.

One is on the engine near the transmission just behind the front bumper. It's a small, squarish one and was the one in my case that was broken. Make sure you orient the new one with its V-shaped rubber piece correctly; it's possible to install it 90 degrees or 180 degrees the wrong way. Then there's an engine mount between the front cover and the passenger-side fender. The third is a transmission mount. It's attached with a long (about 8 inches) bolt with its head reached through the driver's side wheel well (behind the inner plastic liner) and threaded through a bracket and a frame housing in the engine compartment with a sort of long nut on the inboard end.

Hope that helps.
