I have a 92 Dodge Grand Caravan and lately when driving the vehicle it slips out of gear. From start up it will drive about 30 yards like normal then all of the sudden it loses the gear its in and acts like its in neutral. If I get going fast enough it will even shift gears as it would normally until it goes out. If I turn off the ignition and immediatly start it back up I can drive for another 30 yards or so. Reverse is as normal as can be. How can turning off the vehicle and immediately turning it back on cause the gears to work for a brief time in forward. Is there a fix for this? Is it the ECM or the TCM computer?

It does not leak fluid and the fluid has heen changed in the last 2 months. All the seals seem to be working. the fluid does not look burnt nor does it smell burnt.

How can I resolve this... HELP. I know its old but I need it to work, and the van is in otherwise excellent shape

Is your check engine light on? If yes turn the key from off to on three times, on the fourth one leave it in the on position, count the flasshes...22 would flash as 2 blinks, then a short puase, then 2 more blinks...if several codes are stored, the pause is longer between codes, code 55 will be the last code...do this and post all codes found...
