the dome light does not come on when the doors are opened. the dimmer switch will turn them on as soon as it is engaged just a little bit (should not come on until slider is all the way to the right. so in order to increase the brightness of the instrument panel, I get the dome light on as well. I have replaced the complete switch assembly. What is wrong?

Sounds like two different problems. First of all, turn the dash switch to a normal setting, (where the dome lights come on but aren't supposed to). Then go around to the three doors and press the switches in one at a time to see which one isn't turning off. Most commonly it's the one at the rear of the sliding door.. There should also be a light on the dash that says "Door Ajar".

If you find a switch not turning off, holler back. There are fixes for them.

The door switch on the front passenger side was not being pushed in. I screwed it out a little and now it works. There is still no do adjar indicator nor is there any time delayed shut off. Was that a feature of a different or later computer?
