Engine Performance problem

I need to know the correct ignition timing for 3L V6. It appears that either the hood has been changed or an incorrect VECI label was installed because the information on there is for a 4 cylinder. When I checked both the owner's manual and the repair manual, they both told me to refer to the VECI label for the correct ignition timing. None of the repair manuals will tell me what I need to know, and can't find it on the net so far. I refuse to take it into a dealership when I can easily set it at home.
