When at a stop, in order to get the car going I have to floor the gas. Why? If I just start out normal with slowly pushing down on the gas, it takes 5 minutes (exaggeration) to get up to speeds of 20 mph. This car has no guts. What can I do to change the way the car starts out. [img:b7e2847adf]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/220694_DSC02652_2.jpg[/img:b7e2847adf]

Hi:
Is this something that just started or has the car always been this way? Also, is the check engine light on?

This problem started when I bought the car. The Check engine light has never come on. I have also run a diagnostics on the car and the computer came up with nothing. This car has 2 speeds, 1st speed is pressing halfway down on the gas pedal to go at grandma speeds and 2nd speed is pressing all the way down on the gas pedal to go at juniors running from the cops again speeds. It's ridiculous. Does anyone have any other advice or comments?

Unfortunately the car is not under warranty. I've owned the car for a year now.

Hi:
I've owned Dodges all my life and worked on them most of that time. I'm at a loss. I will post your problem for other techs to review and hopefully one of them will get back to you.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Take your Caliber to the dealer and insist they flash the computer to the latest codes...

There was a TSB computer flash issued that re-configures the engine and transmission codes that really improved performance and gas milage.

This is a KNOWN PROBLEM with the '07s that has been fixed with the TSB computer flash.
