car started fine ,i got out to go in store car would't start.This is the second time i had to get a jump,it all started when i jumped off my wifes van,come to to find out she had run out of gas.I hope ,I didn't mess up the alternator,or do u think the battery is low ,I haven't replaced it since i bought it in 2008 or if the dealership replaced it before i bought it.So that would make the battery 3yrs old.hoping battery

WHen it doesn't start, do you hear a clicking from the starter or is it completely dead? Does anything else work as far as lights, horn... Also, if you question the battery, fully charge it and take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them load test it. If the car is driveable, drive it there and have them check the charging system too.

Let me know what you find. Also, is it the caliber that ran out of gas?
