1997 Dodge Avenger 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

how do you test check cam/crank sensors in a 97 dodge avenger. should they be checked when car is having the problem, not having the problem or both. (car loses spark randomly) sorry for no donation, bad time

Pin 1 is +5V, pin 2 is Ground and pin 3 is the signal. Use analog voltimeter in pin 2 and 3. Crank the engine: the pointer of the voltimeter shoud oscilate in range 0V to 5V.
