my roomate has a dodge aries k car and it has trouble starting in the cold anything over 45 degrees it will start any suggestions

Check the coolant sensor, if it is bad the computer doesn't know that the engine is cold and wont add extra fuel if the car is fuel injected. If it is carburated check the choke to be sure it is closing, if not you may have a bad choke thermostat.
