1985 Dodge 600 veh wont start !!!

1985 Dodge 600 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my father in law went to start his car this spring & connected the battery backwards & now wont crank over & has no spark when starter relay is jumped !!!!!!
Any info would be greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!

Hello

First thing to do is check the fuses and fusable links, the fusable links are actaully wires that connect to the battery positive cable. They act as fuses but the wire inside the insulation burns in half. If the battery was connected backwards these should blow before damage happens. But if they didn,t you may have damage to the computer. Hope this helps.
