I have replaced the pickup in distributor twice. First time lasted a couple weeks. Quit other day I replaced it and it ran for less than a minute and quit. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Remove the distributor cap and rotor button.

Grab the shaft the rotor button goes on, can you wiggle it in any direction (or make it girate at all)? In other words it should not move from its axis, it only rotate. Maybe the reluctor is hitting the pickup due to the distributor's bushing being worn?

Keep us posted.
