Insert the key in the drivers door lock. Turn the key left, then immediately turn it all the way to the right. That should reset the factory alarm, unless there is a problem with the door lock switch.

Hi Possia,

ALARM NOT CANCELED WHEN KEY IS INSERTED IN IGNITION SWITCH
1. Check for a blown fuse No. 20 (7.5-amp) in the under-hood fuse block.
2. Check the ignition switch.
3. Check security control module input.
4. Check for open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals on control module Black/Red and Blue/White wires.

Hi Christian, Try unplugging the module under dash on driver's side.

The car alarm started comming on and the car would stop running .but would start again with the key. Now the car has stopped and the key will not start it won't turn over radio doesn't work windows don't work just the head lights dome light and turn signals ??believe the car had a second alarm installed that worked off a panic switch that would turn the car off if a buton was pushed but the button have kind of crumbled in the desert heat hear AZ. Do you think if i were to hook the wires in the button thingey together that it could help or am i stuck getting it towed to a dealer its a 16yr old car but still a pretty nice ride and fast and smooth riding if it were runnning. My othe car is a 1977 toyota land cruiser that has 300,000+++ mile and keeps going and going

Hi azcruiser,

Cause of problem should be power supply interruption and possible causes are :
1. Faulty ignition switch.
2. Loose main fuse and or connections.
3. Faulty alarm controls. Check if the fob button is self applying due to a bad internal spring. Try removing the fob battery and not using it to test if problem occurs
