Is there a way to disable just the opening of the glass in the lift-gate? I have an old vehicle that the lift-gate glass hinges have disintegrated and do not want to spend the ridiculous amount to replace it. I would rather just seal the glass in and only open the lift-gate. My concern is accidentally hitting the button on the remote or lift-gate that is for opening just the glass.

Hello, yes you can disconnect the power wire to the window motor in the back door. The inside panel below the rear window comes out, there are plastic clips and probably hidden screws you will have to find, but it is possible. It is the easiest fix for this problem. This article discusses removing a door panel and should help with getting to the lock or motor for the rear window. Hope this helps.
