Did not pass smog

I took my truck to be smogged and it failed. It failed the OBD system checks.

What does that mean?

Where do I start to look for the answer?

Where do you find the OBD connection at anyway?

Okay, is the check engine light on? The explanation was the light was either on or it did not come on when the key was turned on.

It could be a bad bulb for the light or if it is on, then there may be a code. I doubt that as it would have showed.

That is why it failed.

You need to have someone check the system for a stored fault. Once the code is read, diagnostics will need to be done and repairs made. Then the light can be cleared and you can get your emissions done.

That is correct.

That is really dirty and corroded and needs to be cleaned.

You will need terminal cleaner from a parts store with a small wire brush.

Take off a negative battery cable and spray the cleaner into the contacts and let it sit for a few minutes. then use the wire brush and clean up the corrosion. then wipe it out with an old rag and let it dry before re attaching the battery cable.

Clean it off real well. Right now, you cannot get a good connection for plugging into that connector.
