Did I accidentally get air in my master cylinder from moving it

I was doing something on my car, and noticed the master cylinder moved up and down while I was moving around it. Does accidentally moving the master cylinder reservoir on the car get air into it? I saw the front grommet move while pushing it upwards but no fluid. It was maybe 1/8 or less than 3/16" up on the one grommet movement or less. Pushed it back on tight. Took car out several times and brakes feel the same. Does the screw/pin prevent the reservoir from moving too much while installed on the car? Should I worry about it?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If no fluid came out, it should be fine. Think about it. For air to enter, fluid would have had to come out.

Let me know if you have other questions or need additional help. Just make sure when it moved is properly reinstalled and not leaking now.

Take care,
Joe

Would it also damage the area where the reservoir pin is? I added photos of it.

Welcome back. As long as the pins are securing it you are fine. It looks fine in the picture. As long as there are no leaks and the pins are attached, you should be fine.

If you have other questions, feel free to ask.

Take care,
Joe

Hi:

No, it is not. It is nothing more than a holding location for the fluid.
