OK so here’s the deal I bought a 2006 Cadillac SRX 3.6 all-wheel-drive SUV. It had been rather ended on the driver side. Under closer inspection, the outer tie rods were bent, so I took it apart. I ordered the replacement parts off of carp rod.com both inner and outer tie rods they were supposed to include new gym nuts, and the inner tie rods were supposed to come with a metal washer was locking tabs fucking in( hardware seem to been forgotten in the shipment ) so once I got my driver side, tire rod off, there was an unexpected plastic spacer no metal, locking tab, washer and up inside of my rack on the side closest to the steering wheel. There appears to be another piece of yellowish plastic up in there I don’t know if something broke or what your deal is there, so I put it back together (3 times now) this last time I put driver-side together. I don’t know if I cranked it a little bit too much with the torque wrench, but I had now the torque wrench prior and after I slept on it, I decided that’s the most I needed to get because I am a girl and sometimes I get things way over or under and this I didn’t wanna take any chances on, I can’t find any manuals, anything online regarding this plastic spacer, or even the metal tab washer or specific torque needed to re apply inner tie-rod , but that plastic spacer kind it on the inner side kind of shaved back just a hair ( I belive I got it a little to tight , when I tip the passenger side apart yesterday evening, the plastic washer that was on that side was free, moving up and down the shaft. Where is on the driver side it was it. It would only move about a quarter of an inch away from the inner tie rod. Is there something to mess with that as well? Do I need these metal tab washers? Seems like I would. I just need some kind of wisdom and knowledge about these specific because the last thing I wanna do is be driving down the road and please complete control of my vehicle in and possibly kill myself or somebody else! I will add some pictures that I took I’m fixing to go out and examine the passenger side a little more and kind of stall for an answer about the metal washers because I need to return the torque wrench today. I just don’t want to put the passenger side back together to have to remove it all again because it seems kind of rough on them because I don’t actually have the inner tire rod tool tube style. I have the U clamp style inner tire rod tool. Any kind of information with you so gratefully appreciated.
