Designing new wiring harness?

I'm trying to design a new upgraded wiring harness for my car, I want to bring it to a level that keeps up with the modern times. But I don't have all of the modern electronics yet. I'm going for a more modular harness with waterproof ferrule connectors and pins. The original wiring diagram is my base but what would be the best way to partition additional wire hook ups without cutting into the harness later on?

The best way to go is just extra wires to the new harness anticipating the additional accessories to come. I would gather everything you wanted to use on the car and see how they are wired to add any additional. It going to take some planning but if you go slow it should turn out.
