No air goes to windshield. When I close the vents for face I hear screech noise.

It sounds like you might be having a problem with the air door - blend door actuator. It is a small electric motor that opens up the duct doors to route air throughout the various ducts. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved for its replacement:
