Cannot turn off ignition after battery drained flat

The battery drained out and for some reason I am unable to shut the ignition completely off. The battery is completely dead. I cannot pull the keys out of the ignition. Anyone know why? I can't get back over there to jump start it for a couple days, will it return to normal with a jump or a battery charge??? Thank you for any help.

Hi,

This is likely because the battery is completely dead. Take a jumper pack or remove the battery and charge it. That should take care of the problem.

If I recall correctly, this vehicle has an ignition lock cylinder actuator that has to have battery voltage applied to it to turn the key all the way to the lock or off position.

I put a jump on the car this morning and, sure enough, the key went to the off position and I pulled them right out. Now if I can figure out the other 54 problems with this thing.. Anyway, thank you very much for your time and help. I'm sure you will hear from me again.
