2001 Daewoo Leganza cam position sensor

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor sends a CMP signal to Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM uses this signal as a "sync pulse" to trigger injectors in proper sequence. The ECM uses CMP signal to indicate position of #1 piston during its power stroke. This allows ECM to calculate true sequential fuel injection mode of operation. If ECM detects an incorrect CMP signal while engine is running, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0341 will set. If CMP signal is lost while engine is running, fuel injection system will shift to a calculated sequential fuel injection mode based on last fuel injection pulse and engine will continue to run. As long as fault is present, engine can be restarted. It will run in calculated sequential mode with a 1-in-6 chance of injector sequence being correct.

you do not HAVE to replace this sensor .. you could clean it and check the wiring is not corroded in any way .. the CMP controls injector pulse ... and when it is not functioning correctly .. you have an 80% chance of misfire causing more fuel usage and eventually damage to the catalytic convertor .. in my opinion if the PCM is actually telling you the CMP is bad and not giving another code like low signal .. then the CMP is probably bad and needs replacing .. whether it is intermitent or not ..!!

yes u should replace the sensor! even though i agree with all the answers u have got from others ,problem with not replacing the cam sensor on ur leganza is it will throw off ur mechanics when they scan ur car for other drivability problems because ur computer in ur car will not pick up engine miss fire because of cam sensor being faulty and that will lead to replacing parts for no reasons, so there for if no camsensor there will not be a misfire code which is very important
