Clacking sound coming from the passenger side wheel

Hi, I had this clacking sound coming from the passenger side wheel. So somebody told me it was the CV boot axle shaft. So we had that changed out with another but the sound is still there. Mostly while turning left or right, if I'm going straight seems to have disappeared but as soon as I turn even just a little I can hear the loud clacking sound.. it is really loud. I need some advice as to what might be the problem. any ideas are appreciated.

Does this make the noise on both sides or is it just this side? If it is only the passenger side then we need to start swapping items side to side. The fact that this only does it while turning, that would point to the CV axle so we need to define what was changed when you did this. You said CV boot axle shaft so was this entire component changed or just part of it and was it replaced with a new one?

Yes, the sound was only coming from the passenger side. I had replaced the whole CV assembly both sides and greased the bearings and boots inside but the noise still appeared present. I was thinking it was the wheel bearing but then it didn't really seem like the wheel bearing because when driving straight it was fine. The shaft that I replaced was a used one but came off the same year vehicle and didn't have that problem with the other vehicle so i figured it wouldn't be a problem. But yes the entire component was changed.

Okay. With that information, the only things really make sense are the wheel bearing or rotor. It could also be that wheel that you have on there. It appears it is the spare and those are not durable at all. Do you have the lug nuts torqued properly? When turning you are putting torque on that wheel and if it is loose at all or has weak spots it will make all kinds of noise.

I would suggest with swapping the wheel side to side and see if that causes it to move to the other side.

Just a word to the wise, that tire is in bad shape and I would not do much driving with that on the front.
