(zf6) when driving weather I'm pulling are empty mainly down the interstate and highway It likes to cut out for a few seconds as you let off the accelerator. does it up hill , down hill ,flat , with are with out cruise on when the throttle reduces to maintain speed it cuts out for a few seconds almost acting like the map sensor is getting a over boost from the turbo but only does it when letting off the accelerator. it does awesome and pulls hard as long as you stay in it. it's not throwing any codes are service engine light..I have replaced the cam sensor and and do change my fuel filter every other oil change . Been doing it about a month now sometimes seem to be more often then other times. this is the first diesel I have owned have had it just over 5 years and have done all the work on it myself.

Good morning,

I had one of these issues way back and I found an issue I want to share.

There is a connector on each valve cover gasket that connects the injectors and glow plugs to the main engine harness. Those plugs, one on each valve cover, get corroded and dirty with debris making intermittent or bad connections.

Check those connectors for any corrosion, damaged or bent pins. You may end up replacing the valve cover gaskets to resolve this.

Okay, I will check those again.. just odd to me that it only does it when letting off of the accelerator and no other time.

I understand. That was a very common failure for this exact issue.
