The cruise control has never worked on my truck since I bought it three years ago. Have replaced the brake switch, replaced both speed control switches on the steering wheel and their wiring, has good vacuum at the servo. One of the strange issues is when the brake is pressed while the truck is idle the cruise light on the dash will come on. When the brake is let off the cruise light on the dash goes out. I do have the diagram of the cruise control circuit but do not know how to test any of the wiring. Any help will be appreciated.

I did get it scanned and the only code was P0841 pressure switch on the tranny ? Could the servo be faulty even when there is still vacuum ? Also, could a bad clock spring cause the cruise light to read when the brake pedal is on ? Is there a way to test the clock spring ?
Thanks
Thanks

clocksprings are very touchy and break very easily especially if steering wheel has been off. see pic to see if power goes through it. also check grounds rh side of dash and lh front of engine if this is a 4.7L andyes the servo can leak vacuum or no vacuum may not be going to it. see if that gets a signal from pcm.

Yes it is a 4.7. I am unsure of exactly where these grounds are you want me to check.
