Cruise Control does not work?

The cruise control light indicator does not come on. I replaced the combination switch and brake light switch. The scan tool shows everything is functioning properly. Only issue the scanner shows stop lamp applied all the time without the brake being applied or brake lights on..

Hi,

If the brake switch shows it is engaged at all times, do me a favor and disconnect it and see if the scan tool provides the same information.

If it does, you likely have a short to ground between the power supply and the switch. That is completing the circuit and the vehicle thinks the brake lights are on.

See pic below. It shows the fuse that supplies power going to the switch. If you open that circuit by disconnecting the switch and still have the same code, we have a different problem.
