Crossed terminals

Crossed terminals, it set everything off. Blew the inline fuse on the positive battery wire. I have already bypassed it. How important is it really? Also blew the "room" fuse that powers stereo and dome lights. Replaced that fuse already too. Car starts, runs and drives. However. Doesn't idle once start driving, and power steering doesn't work. I need cheap solutions as i am between jobs right now. The power steering was working before this, now it doesn't work at all.

The fuse is important in fact that it protects the car from having a short circuit fire. It sounds like more fuses are blown. lets check them all for power. here is a guide to help us get started and the fuse location as well:

The only fuses I am not sure of are the ones that you cannot tell if they are blown. The rest have all been pulled and checked. Every last one of them.

The idle issue can be a simple relearn but the power steering doesn't sound good like a module blew out. Lets run the codes to see what comes up.

I have codes

P2004. Intake manifold runner control stuck open bank 1a.

P2009. Intake manifold runner control circuit low bank 1a.

Both of these codes were there before the terminals were crossed.
I do not have a way to check the steering codes.

Also. It isles now. Idles rough. Between 500 rpm and 1000 rpm. Was idling at 750 before.

There is a power steering fuse that needs to be checked for power. here is a guide to show you how and the fuse location with the wiring diagrams for the electric steering so you can see how it works. The runner control can cause the idle issue usually because it is dirty but lets get the steering working first.
