I am trying to replace the sensor but I can not locate it. The care idles high only when stopped and in park.

The sensor should be located just above the center pulley (crankshaft pulley) under the metal shielding.

I doubt the crank sensor is the cause of a high idle. Rough idle, misfires, and no starts are common with a bad CPS.
High idle is usually a vacuum leak or sticking IAC, those let extra air into the engine that does not get measured by the ECM and you get a high idle. A small leak will not effect the engine once it gets off idle.

Testing for a vacuum leak is not difficult.
