Where is the crankshaft position sensor located?

I'll tell you, but you won't like it... Chrysler put it behind the PTU (transfer case) that is bolted to the transmission and engine on the AWD versions. There is not enough room to get it out with the PTU installed and removing that isn't a lot of fun. So lets see if we can prove the crank sensor is bad before all that work. What makes you think it's bad?

Thank you! Car takes about 30 seconds of cranking to start. Engine code P0335 crankshaft position sensor. I figured it would be an easy fix!

It would be easy if you didn't have the AWD version, but Chrysler just had to stuff that PTU in there and not leave any room. Long crank and that code could be a failed sensor or a bad wire in the harness to it, I have also seen a bad cam sensor set that code. The simple test would be to unplug both cam position sensors and then see if it still starts as it can substitute the cam and crank signals with each other if one is missing. However even that isn't simple on your car because they stuck the left side cam sensor under the intake manifold! To remote test the sensors at the PCM connector requires either depinning the power feed wire at the PCM connector, or to use an oscilloscope to back pin test the sensors at the PCM. If you have access to a dealer level scan tool it might be able to read the signals through the PCM, but most people don't have those laying around.
If you do or know someone with one you might try that and see if it can tell you if the crank sensor is the problem.
