Crankshaft position sensor broke

I attached the process on how to replace it. It shows the placement for the bolt. It is just next to the crankshaft pulley.

The entire sensor has to be attached to the car for the car to start again correct? By entire I mean the bolting part and the plug in part. Just double checking because I attached the plug in part and the car didn’t start.

Yes. You need to have it bolted in because if the air gap is too large it won’t pick up the tone wheel gaps which will cause a no start.

Is this the correct place? Is it the smaller bolt where it should?

Yes. The one on the right looking at the picture. That looks correct. I would pull this out and make sure it has the ear of the old crank sensor that should still be there. That will confirm it. It looks like it is there so it appears correct.

So i got it in there but still no start. Any other suggestions? The car is attempting to turn over but won’t.

Okay, couple things. First we need to scan it to see if there are codes. Second can you send me a recording of what it sounds like when trying to start?

If you don't have a scan tool to get codes, most parts stores can pull it but clearly the vehicle is not running so this may be a little harder.
