Need to know location and best way to access it. Is it under the vehicle or under the hood? Saw conflicting locations online.

I attached the location for your engine and process to replace it. The easiest way to get to it is from under the vehicle and remove the skid plate. The process states this as well. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks

Thank you for the info. Took me a little while to actually find it but i was able to replace it. I have been seeing that you have to relearn the crankshaft sensor. Is that true? I just took the Jeep for a ride after replacing the sensor and the Jeep seems to be running better than it has been in a long time. Will I notice problems right away if I don't relearn the sensor?

Yes, you need to do a relearn. Basically this is so the PCM can learn the quirks of the new sensor. While they all operate the same, they do function a little different. Meaning some are a little more sensitive then others and may pick up the rising or falling edge of the tone wheel a little quicker or slower. The PCM must have this accurate because it uses it to time the ignition and fuel. It is unlikely on this engine to have noticeable issues but it is something that you want to have done. In other Jeep engines, it is very common to have misfire codes and running issues. If you have experienced anything then it will probably be fine but again, I would just make sure it gets done to avoid any issues. When they do give an issue, it will make you bang your head against the wall because it doesn't throw a code telling you that is the issue so you just need to know that is what it is.

The attached will give you the specifics about what needs to be done.
