Crankshaft position sensor

I would say your blue wires is the 5 volt reference. Just check to make sure the sensor is not open. The only way to fully test the sensor is to read the waves which is done with an oscilloscope.

I guess what I need to know is, I have a black and white wire at my CPS. From what I am seeing in the manual I should have 5volts on the black wire. I do not have 5 volts on that wire. The CPS is new. Also the car runs and drives fine until it gets warm and it starts wanting to cut off. Also I can turn off the check engine light off anytime warm or cold and it will run fine and the light will not come back on again until the ley gets cycled off\on. So I guess I need to know is there some kinda of fuseable link between the CPS and the ECM? Also a pin out of the ECM would be very helpful.

There is a pin out diagram in the above post. It sounds like the ECM is going out to me.

I have replaced that also.

Then you are on the right track with the pin to pin check it sounds like you have a wire pinched somewhere.

I got it figured out. I have been sold the wrong sensor twice. The first two sensors have been to short to see the flywheel. I went to a junkyard today and found a car like mine and took the sensor out and put it in mine. Problem solved. Thx for ur assistance.
