The engine would crank but won’t start.

It sounds like a fuel related issue. What I would suggest is this. First, confirm the fuel pressure is within the manufacturer's specs. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend you one if you don't own one.

One last question. Will it start every time with starting fluid and then stall? If so, then we know if it fuel related.
