before it actually cranks, I hear one click under the hood and then nothing, will not start?

I have the car listed above SI Xdrive, when I push the button to crank it all the instrument panel lights come on as well as the A/C headlights etc. But before it actually cranks, I hear one click under the hood and then nothing. The lights and everything will stay on like in the accessory position, but it won't start.

This is common when the starter motor goes out. To be sure we need to test the trigger wire of the starter which this guide can help you with. Included is the location of the starter and how to change it out in case you need it.
