Crank no start and no codes, could it be a bad crank sensor?

After fixing a spark plug misfire I had earlier before. i fixed my p0340 code after changing the ignition coil and ICM and i still couldn’t get it to start. i found out i had a broken starter and had it replaced and still nothing. After that i changed my crankshaft sensor seeing that my car doesn’t have a camshaft sensor, so i currently have no codes but i have fuel coming to fuel rail but I'm thinking about using starting fluid to get an idea of what would happen. Whenever i crank there’s no RPM signal on the obd scanner which leads me to suspect it’s a possible faulty crank sensor. I would love to hear some feedback! Love this website!

Thanks! we like it too, yes, the crankshaft sensor could affect the spark and RPM and lave no codes, here is the location of the sensor, you might have a defective part. Also, I would use the starting fluid to see if the problem is ignition or fuel related. This guide can help:

There is no camshaft sensor, you are correct about that. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I managed to get a new OEM crank sensor and still nothing just more cranking like before :(. i had a more mechanically inclined friend help me with this headache and so we put the original ICM and original ignition coil back into the engine and still the same cranking no start as before. i still haven’t tried starting fluid at all but after today I’m 100% planning to use it and see how things go. Is there a way to diagnose an issue like this?

Yes, with starting fluid, this is my first test to determine spark or fuel problems, how does the engine sound while cranking over? Can you please upload a short video? Also, can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on without cranking the engine over?

Thanks for the video. The engine has internal damage like a timing chain issue and will need to be repaired or rebuilt, sorry.

Thank you so much for the help! I would not like to waste your time any longer, but could it still be an issue with the timing chain if I haven’t driven it in about 3 weeks?

Yes, it can. Something went wrong inside the engine. Was the engine overheated?
