First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US so I have little technical info. However, I'll try to help.
Were there any symptoms other than the loss of power when the light came on? For example, excessive smoke from the exhaust?
The most common causes for a diesel to lose power are a dirty air or fuel filter, clogged injectors, injector pump out of time, Injector pump return in too much fuel which would cause excessive black smoke from the exhaust or not enough fuel, loss of compression due to a faulty head gasket and so on.
If you could, let me know if you noticed any additional symptoms other than just a power loss. Also, let me know if the computer has been scanned for diagnostic trouble codes.
