Hello,

There are few reasons for an inoperative cooling fan.
The most common reasons are a bad cooling fan relay, or a faulty cooling fan motor. It can also not work if there is a wiring issue.
The cooling fan relay is located under the hood right next to the battery (see diagram below). Check the relay first. Do a visual inspection of any type of corrosion on the plug or any burnt pin(s). You an also test the relay function.

Here is a guide on how to do that:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

Also the cooling fan gets triggered by the coolant temperature sensor. If the sensor is not providing the correct signal to the ECM the fan will not turn on.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-a-coolant-temperature-sensor-works
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/symptoms-of-a-bad-coolant-temperature-sensor

First item you should check is the relay. Also see if you are getting power to the fan.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.

Very extensive information but it is for a different car. My research resulted in a controller module instead of a relay. I have not been able to find the actual location in the car. I checked fuses and they seem to okay. I was not able to find a relay on a visual inspection nor in an internet search. The best I could find was the module that is use in other car makes but is also shown as exact fit for the Nissan Versa vs 2015.

On the thread you have it as a 2015 Nissan Versa. Is that the correct vehicle?
